Field Manager

Start Date: Immediately
Compensation: $53,000–$60,000 annually (32 hrs/week equivalent)

Red Fern Brooklyn is seeking a Field Manager to maintain day-to-day field operations across installation and maintenance projects throughout New York City.

This role is responsible for ensuring that work in the field is properly staffed, organized, and progressing. When problems arise, the Field Manager addresses them directly and keeps projects on track.

You will work closely with the Owner to coordinate plant health decisions and crew development, and serve as the primary bridge between field activities and office operations.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who is organized, steady under pressure, and serious about taking on greater operational responsibility.

• Ensure crews are scheduled, prepared, and on time
• Maintain clear expectations for professionalism and quality
• Monitor project timelines and proactively flag risks
• Observe plant health concerns and coordinate with Owner on treatment plans
• Coordinate material, plant, and tool orders
• Ensure vans and shop remain stocked and organized
• Track tools and consumables
  
  Coordinate subcontractors and vendors
• Communicate field updates clearly to Operations and Design

• 2–3+ years of experience in operations, landscaping, construction, or field coordination
• Experience supporting or leading crews
• Horticulture background preferred; foundational knowledge with commitment to learning is welcomed
• Valid driver’s license
• Comfortable driving in NYC and operating cargo vans or cube trucks
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to take ownership and follow through
• Must be able to lift 50# and be on your feet all day
