We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Telecommunications Aerial Coordinator to manage aerial construction crews in the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of aerial fiber optic and coaxial cable infrastructure in the Toledo, OH area
. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerial telecom construction and field operations, with proven leadership and coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage aerial line construction crews performing pole work, strand placement, lashing, and fiber optic/cable installation
- Manage and coordinate in-house staff and subcontractors working on aerial projects
- Ensure implementation and compliance with safety and quality programs across all aerial crews
- Issue daily work orders to in-house aerial crews and monitor field progress
- Review and approve material requests specific to aerial fiber construction (strand, lashing wire, J-hooks, etc.)
- Plan, prepare, and issue aerial construction schedules, tasks, and job sequencing
- Maintain and update project documentation including schedules, redlines, and as-builts
- Report project status, field crew availability, and any issues or delays to management
- Ensure aerial projects are delivered safely, on-time, and within budget
- Oversee the preparation, content, and quality control of aerial construction deliverables
- Coordinate the movement of aerial personnel, trucks, equipment (buckets, reels, etc.) to and from job sites
- Ensure all field teams comply with health & safety policies, traffic control requirements, and aerial construction standards
- Maintain effective emergency communication procedures for remote and elevated work sites
- Experience in aerial telecommunications construction and coordination
- Familiarity with NESC standards and aerial construction best practices
- Knowledge of utility pole permitting, make-ready, and right-of-way regulations
- Comfortable working around active roadways, heights, and power infrastructure
- Proven experience managing aerial crews and telecom field operations
- Ability to make impactful decisions with independence and sound judgment
- Excellent communication skills, including coordination with utilities and municipal contacts
- Strong project management skills with ability to define scope and timelines
- Ability to mentor junior field staff and enforce aerial safety protocols
- Proficiency in construction documentation, spreadsheets, and scheduling software
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced field environment
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
