About CAMBA: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners working together to build an inclusive New York City where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. The Landing Family Shelter: The Landing Family Shelter, funded by the New York City Department of Homeless Services, provides families with a supportive, structured therapeutic, safe, and drug‑free facility. It offers comprehensive case management services to 169 families in a transitional residence program for homeless families. The three‑story facility includes rooms of various sizes, common areas and on‑site security and social services.

What the Part‑Time Shift Supervisor does:
The supervisor ensures the smooth daily operation of the facility and its services, maintaining client goals and performance outcomes on a day‑to‑day, weekly and monthly basis.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
- Practice Universal Precautions / Standard Protocol & Procedures.
- Comply with all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy policies protecting health information.
- Input client data in DHS’ CARES database, as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, peers, supervisors and funders.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with NYS DHS, NYS OTDA, NYC FDNY, NYC Dept. of Health, NYC Coalition for the Homeless, etc. (log book entries, bed checks, client belongings, security, client care, medication).
- Coordinate new client orientation within 24 hours of entry into the facility.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels to ensure safety and security of operations during the shift.
- Remain on‑site to provide supervisory coverage at all times, including lunch breaks, as the only on‑site Shift Supervisor.
- Ensure inventory of security equipment is up‑to‑date and secure valuables, medications in a safe or cabinet.
- Retrieve, observe, and document client self‑administration of medications, as appropriate.
- Manage day‑to‑day facility functions, ensuring programming, rounds and client care services occur.
- Respond professionally to complaints, incidents and emergencies, investigate all parties, analyze data, document and report.
- Resolve conflicts and disputes between staff or clients respectfully and solution‑oriented.
- Lead and participate in program meetings as requested.
- Engage clients to address shift issues and document communication through logs and meetings.
- Monitor client safety and ensure daily practice of safety policies and procedures.
- Overcome resistance to change from clients.
- Provide shift reports to CAMBA management or funders.
- Assume direct service or program responsibilities when staffing is inadequate.
- Enforce the Good Neighbor Policy and respond to community concerns when appropriate.
- Develop client programming to maximize contract goals and performance targets.
- Conduct initial intake and periodic assessments of clients.
- Prepare marketing materials for the program.
- Market the program to the community to obtain resources for clients.
- Tasks may be modified, expanded or assigned over time.
- HS Diploma or GED and 3 years applicable experience, or
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) and 2 years applicable experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.W.) and equivalent experience.
- TB results prior to start date.
- Attestation for State Central Child Abuse Registry.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Overdose prevention certification.
- F‑80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention) certification.
$25.75 hourly.
StatusPart‑time (14 hours per week).
