As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a major government location in New York City, you will conduct routine foot patrols of assigned areas, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication and strong customer service.

** What You'll Do:*
* + Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols of platforms, mezzanines, corridors, entrances, stairwells, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify conditions that may require attention.

+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with crowd control, medical response notifications, and coordination with on-site personnel and/or public agency responders.

+ Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and document and/or report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations through radio communications and written reports.

+ Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and required check-ins, and communicate clearly with supervisors and site contacts regarding security-related concerns and/or operational needs.

* + A New York State Security Guard License is required.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
