Position SummaryThe Field Sales Representative owns and delivers sales for their overall territory by developing relationships with Store Managers and other retail personnel to achieve directed short and long‑term performance objectives. This is achieved with a focus on delivering the overall value of retail (VOR) to include sales, displays, new items and core distribution. Activities center on coverage of Nestlé items, including systemic problem solving related to out of stocks, new item speed to shelf, share of shelf, price compliance, and promotion selling.
The position covers a Brooklyn NY territory and the ideal candidate should live in one of the five boroughs of NY (Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx or Staten Island). This role will be responsible for Nestlé Premium Waters and Ready To Drink products.
- Partner with Distributor, collaborating and ensuring product knowledge by in‑person and phone communication.
- Sell incremental volume for display and obtain maximum support for promoted products.
- Sell promotional surveys for displays.
- Sell additional products based on opportunities observed.
- Collaborate with targeted store‑level/district‑level retail operations personnel to create and execute business reviews that drive volume.
- Lead expenditure of financial resources in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Ensure compliance to pricing guidelines at retail level.
- Report competitive price changes and promotional support and resolve competitive pricing issues.
- Identify and correct voids and ensure new items are available.
- Merchandise products to obtain schematic compliance, pack out shelves, rotate products, handle unsellable product and resolve systemic problems related to out‑of‑stocks and voids.
- Develop and maintain proper relations with department/store level personnel within territory in order to maximize sales results.
- Communicate market insights from the retail level to management.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology or a related field preferred. - 2+ years of retail sales, merchandising or retail management experience of CPG products preferred, not required.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License in good standing.
- Must have excellent customer service and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Must possess strong communication (oral and written), selling and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook) and other POS systems.
- Ability to analyze financial, inventory, retail conditions and/or other data to utilize appropriate selling techniques.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
- Must be willing and able to travel.
The approximate pay range for this position is $65K – $80K base plus annual bonus. Please note that the pay range provided is a good‑faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
