Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with a NY license for an Electrophysiology (EP) Lab position in a mixed procedural cardiac and interventional radiology setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a mixed procedural unit supporting Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology (EP), and Interventional Radiology with shared prep and recovery areas

• Adult patient population with an average daily census of 7 patients and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 during the day shift

• Perform pre- and post-procedure care for patients with arrhythmias

• Day shifts only, 3×12-hour shifts per week from 6:00 AM–6:30 PM

• No weekend or on-call requirements

• Floating required to Cath Lab prep and recovery areas

• Uses Omnicell for medication management and EPIC for documentation

• Main responsibilities include caring for adult patients undergoing cardiac, EP, and IR procedures

• Orientation is 11.5 hours and scrubs are provided

• First-time travelers are accepted for this role

• COVID vaccination is required with no exceptions

• Candidates must complete EKG testing within 72 hours of signing

• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks

• Previous permanent NYU staff must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate and assigned parking is provided at no cost

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience with similar patient ratios

• Experience with IV therapy, including PICC line and implanted port care, blood product administration, and IV pumps

• Competency in administering and monitoring antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency meds, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and thrombolytics

• Skilled in cardioversion, sheath removal, use of vascular closure systems, infection prevention, and EKG/ECG acquisition

• EPIC documentation experience preferred

• Previous charge, community, or teaching hospital experience preferred
