THE OPPORTUNITYThe Reimagining Intimacy through Social Engagement (RISE) Project responds to the intersection of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and gun violence and supports healthy relationship norms and the prevention of intimate partner violence at the community level. The RISE Project draws on public health, community organizing and transformative justice models to create a holistic approach to violence.
RISE seeks a Training Coordinator to lead the development, organization, and implementation of training and education initiatives across Community Initiatives. Reporting to the Program Manager of Community Initiatives, the Training Coordinator will design high-quality training programs, build out curriculum and educational materials, and coordinate internal and external training efforts that strengthen community capacity around IPV, healthy relationships, accountability, and violence prevention.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop, design, and refine training programs, curriculum, and lesson plans aligned with RISE’s frameworks on gender-based violence, community accountability, and transformative justice;
- Create and update educational materials, toolkits, facilitator guides, and resource packets for diverse audiences (community members, partners, youth, providers, etc.);
- Ensure all training content is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and accessible across languages and literacy levels;
- Review existing training materials and recommend improvements or updates based on feedback, research, and program needs;
- Lead “train-the-trainer” sessions to build internal and partner capacity to deliver RISE-aligned curricula;
- Lead the facilitation of RISE trainings with co‑facilitation support;
- Co‑facilitate RISE program workshops and training sessions as needed (e.g., IPV 101, healthy relationships, community accountability frameworks);
- Maintain a training calendar and ensure smooth coordination across teams and external partners;
- Work closely with internal teams to align curriculum and training needs with program goals;
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including NYCHA partners, community‑based organizations, CMS sites, DYCD, and City agencies to coordinate training delivery and resource sharing;
- Support the development and execution of community education campaigns relevant to RISE’s mission;
- Develop evaluation tools (pre/post surveys, feedback forms) to assess training quality and impact;
- Track training delivery, participation, and outcomes using required databases, and submit timely monthly reports to the Project Director;
- Analyze feedback to identify gaps, strengths, and opportunities for improvement in training content and systems;
- Assist with planning and organizing community events that align with RISE’s educational mission;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community‑based organizations, NYCHA leaders, local service providers, and City partners (including ONS and DYCD);
- Attend community meetings, tenant gatherings, and partner convenings to represent RISE and strengthen collaboration;
- Document outreach, training, and engagement activities in required databases within 24–48 hours, and submit monthly reports to the Project Manager; and
