Job Description Summary
:
The Sanitation Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all sanitation activities within the food manufacturing facility to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, company policies, and customer requirements. This role leads sanitation staff, ensures proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, and supports food safety programs such as GMPs, HACCP, and SQF.
Schedule: Overnight Shift: 8:30pm-7:00am | Sunday - Wednesday (4 days, 10-hour shift)
Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate daily sanitation activities, including equipment, production lines, and facility cleaning
- Ensure sanitation is completed according to Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) and SSOPs
- Verify proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals and sanitation tools
- Conduct pre-operational and post-sanitation inspections to ensure readiness for production
- Address sanitation-related issues promptly to minimize production downtime
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, and local health regulations
- Support and enforce GMP, HACCP, allergen control, and food defense programs
- Maintain accurate sanitation records, logs, and documentation
- Assist during internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections
- Investigate and document sanitation-related deviations and corrective actions
- Supervise, train, and coach sanitation employees on proper cleaning procedures and safety practices
- Assign daily work tasks and manage labor efficiency
- Enforce safety policies, PPE usage, and chemical safety procedures
- Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed
- Monitor sanitation effectiveness to prevent cross-contamination and product adulteration
- Identify sanitation-related equipment or facility issues and report maintenance needs
- Work closely with Maintenance and Production teams to coordinate cleaning schedules
- Prepare / Process / Pre-Weigh ingredients and materials for incoming 1st shift ready for production
- Pre-start-up filling and packing lines for 1st shift production
- Prepare / Cook initial batches of sauce for production start on 1st shift
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred - 2–5 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation best practices
- Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs
- Experience with sanitation chemicals and CIP/COP systems (preferred)
- Ability to read and maintain sanitation documentation
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
$67,450 - $84,000 Salaried Exempt
