As a member of the leadership team, the Residence Manager should advocate for supports and encourage growth among individuals in order for everyone to reach their full physical, emotional, and intellectual potential. They should guide the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to encourage professional growth and to ensure policy alignment. The Residence Manager will develop and maintain positive relationships with all individuals in the program as well as the individuals’ families, guardians and/or correspondents.

The Residence Manager will oversee all aspects of the operations for the residence that they supervise.

Responsibilities

As a member of the leadership team, the Residence Manager should advocate for supports and encourage growth among individuals in order for everyone to reach their full physical, emotional, and intellectual potential. They should guide the DSPs to encourage professional growth and to ensure policy alignment. The Residence Manager will develop and maintain positive relationships with all individuals in the program as well as the individuals’ families, guardians and/or correspondents.

The Residence Manager will oversee all aspects of the operations for the residence that they supervise.

Essential Functions
  • Communication:
    Maintain positive communications and be an effective communicator who provides person-directed supports and constructive feedback regarding overall program expectations, standards, and timelines.
  • Display respectful conduct; create and encourage an open communication system; develop clear written and verbal communications including but not limited to Corrective Discipline Reports (CDR), professional emails, supervisions, family contacts, etc.
  • Meet respective deadlines; foster appropriate communications and respond in a timely manner; conduct, attend and participate in regular supervisory sessions.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team, family members, day programs, community members, and establishments to ensure programs are person-directed and meaningful; utilize CQL/POM to identify best outcomes for people supported; participate in life planning using the “I AM” assessment.
  • Educate DSPs on appropriate communications and relationships within the house and community.

Budget/Finance:
Ensure fiscal responsibility and that the program operates within budgetary guidelines. Standards and expectations include:

  • Review variance reports monthly; prepare, balance, and submit petty cash routinely; track finances for people supported including burial, savings and in-house accounts; prepare financial ledger reports for monthly/quarterly review.
  • Track and maintain SNAP ledger; be aware of overall program spending including DSP salaries and overtime; prepare all required submittals; responsible for all aspects of the program operating budget.
Administrative

The Residence Manager has the responsibility to manage all aspects of the residence. Standards and expectations include:

  • Complete, monitor and review all documentation in accordance with Foundling, Federal and State policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the completion of all documentation by DSPs and other related staff; ensure documentation is completed within the expected timeline.
