The Community Improvement Project (CIP) is a social venture operation that produces revenue while providing transitional work for 500+ Ready, Willing & Able trainees. In addition to the trainee workforce, the Project has 100+ permanent employees who supervise paid contracts in New York City.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • You have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Candidate must possess a valid and clean Driver's License
  • Candidate must pass written road test to be considered for position
  • Standard Shift knowledge is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
  • Each Supervisor must ensure that he has a complete crew before leaving the facility and those trainees and self are wearing Ready, Willing & Able uniforms appropriate to weather conditions
  • If the crew is short, supervisors must make appropriate adjustments to ensure that all routes are covered. The Dispatch station should be notified of adjustments. If additional trainees are required, supervisors must notify Senior Supervisors and request assistance.
  • If arriving late at an assigned area, it is the supervisor's responsibility to notify the Senior Supervisors and Dispatch.
  • Before the daily assignment of men/women for tasks to be performed, Supervisor must hold brief discussions with the trainees. (Team Talk). Team Talk should include, but not be limited to, how trainee should maintain his/her route and how they should interact with the public (no foul language, being respectful to the opposite sex).
  • Supervise transportation of trainees, materials and equipment to and from job site even if you are not driving, ensure safety while driving vans.
  • Supervisor must have all necessary equipment to complete work, including Scraper for him and for entire crew, pen, pencil, clipboard, Assignment Sheets, Accident and Incident Report forms, QAS, Sign in sheets
  • Supervisors must make continuous inspections of assigned areas and trainees.
  • Prepare written reports of route cleanliness. Quality Assurance Sheets
  • Train crew members in all aspects of community improvement.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and materials. along with safety
  • Provide all reports as requested by Senior Supervisor
  • Submit written reports on all incidents that occur in their respective areas to the Senior Supervisor for follow-up and investigation.
  • Prepare monthly trainee evaluations, discuss with the trainee and submit to the Senior Supervisor.
  • Supervisors are expected to serve as role models by demonstrating respect, cleanliness, honesty and fairness. Supervisors must also teach basic employment skills such as punctuality, proper attitude, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
