Human Resources Generalist

We’re supporting a well‑established manufacturing company in NYC seeking a hands‑on HR Generalist with strong payroll expertise and experience working with union and non‑union employees.

This role owns weekly payroll processing while contributing across core HR functions including onboarding, employee support, attendance tracking, and record maintenance. You’ll partner closely with HR, Finance, and Operations and play a critical role in ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and seamless employee support.

• Process weekly payroll for ~250 union & non‑union employees
• Ensure compliance with CBAs, wage laws & company policies
• Investigate payroll discrepancies and resolve issues
• Analyze labor and payroll data using advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
• Support finance with reporting, reconciliations & month‑end close
• Track PTO, sick time, attendance, and leave balances
• Manage onboarding, I‑9s, wage notices & employee files
• Assist with hiring union employees & preparing HR notices
• Support managers with schedules, employee communications & HR inquiries
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

• 2–5 years HR experience + payroll ownership
• Union manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
• ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
• Highly organized, analytical, and detail‑driven
• Strong interpersonal communication with employees at all levels
• Demonstrated discretion with sensitive employee data
