The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing JASA’s Elder Justice Program, ensuring adherence to JASA’s policies and procedures, and maintaining compliance with NYC Aging contract deliverables. They will collaborate within an interdisciplinary team alongside partnering agencies to educate and address the clinical and social needs of older adult survivors of elder abuse and maltreatment.
Job Responsibilities- Oversee and supervise Social Workers, Case Assistants, and student interns, providing both individual and group supervision
- Manage program eligibility screenings, triage emergency interventions, and assign cases to the appropriate staff members
- Monitor and ensure compliance with case records, client case reviews, and service plans
- Manage contract deliverables and ensure they are in compliance with both JASA and NYC Aging standards
- Participate in designated internal and external meetings
- Spearhead presentations on elder abuse and engage in community outreach initiatives
- Attend mandatory internal and external training sessions
- Conduct quarterly peer reviews as directed by the Quality Assurance Director
- Build and sustain relationships with internal partners and external agencies
- Maintain daily and consistent communication with the Senior and Associate Directors regarding work schedules, time off, and any personal, staff, or client emergencies, recruit and interview potential program candidates
- Provide direct case oversight in the absence of Social Workers
- Manage the procurement and inventory of client supplies, office equipment, materials, and vendor invoices
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior and/or Associate Director
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field in Gerontology, Psychology, Human Services, or other Social Services
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in individual and group counseling; skilled in various treatment modalities, including Motivational Interviewing
- Computer literacy, with the ability to learn program-specific software for data entry
- Understanding and respect for diversity factors (race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, and individual values) and how they impact providing services to vulnerable and at-risk older adults
