Purpose: The Mishkon IDD Programs at The Jewish Board provide supports and services in a healthy and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities living in residential programs and in community settings. Position Overview

The Residence Manager is responsible for the effective operation of their assigned Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA) home(s) or Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) unit(s) serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Reporting to the Director of Residential Services, the Residence Manager oversees the day-to-day operations and direct care provided to individuals for their assigned homes/units in line with the applicable DOH, OPWDD, CARF and Jewish Board regulations and standards of care.

They directly supervise Direct Service Professionals (DSPs), create and maintain schedules, ensure consistent and appropriate program coverage, and provide on-call and crisis support. Residence Managers are a critical member of the interdisciplinary team, working collaboratively with staff, colleagues, individuals, families and external providers to provide consistent and good quality care to individuals that supports their health, safety and individualized life goals and preferences.

Key

Essential Functions
  • Direct supervision of home/unit DSPs that includes consistent, scheduled and documented formal individual supervision. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide timely supervisory feedback.
  • Conduct weekly home/unit DSP meetings and ensure that staff on all shifts have access to meeting minutes and that meeting days and times are rotated to allow staff on all shifts to participate.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, performance management and termination per regulations and agency guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing training to direct support professionals and ensure that DSPs have completed required trainings in a timely manner.
  • Coach, mentor and train staff toward excellence in service delivery and professional growth utilizing supervision meetings, team meetings, modeling, and time spent with staff on units.
  • Maintain weekly schedule and ensure appropriate program coverage, vacation approvals and staff time and attendance including scheduling overtime and per diem staff.
  • Conduct at least one early morning and one late evening site observation weekly, in addition to routine, daily observations. Conduct at least one overnight and one weekend site observation monthly.
  • Conduct a daily review of MyAvatar (HER system) to ensure timely completion of all required documentation and monitor compliance.
  • May be necessary to participate up to two days per week as part of the staff ratio for coverage and support.
  • Escalate risks and challenges up to program leadership in a timely manner.
Person-Centered Care, Health & Daily Operations
  • Ensure the health and safety of both the individuals we support and our staff by implementing and enforcing all internal policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with QIDAs (ICF)
    BIS (IRAs) and the Recreational Coordinator to develop and publish a community inclusion and integration calendar. Oversee daily activities, excursions, and trips, ensuring compliance with Sabbath programming and religious customs.
  • Assist with and, if necessary, drive individuals to medical appointments and community engagements.
  • Use the medical tracker to manage and monitor healthcare appointments. Review, schedule, and update appointment details and notes. Complete appointment information in the HER systems.
