SCOPE OF ROLE:
The Vocational Specialist provides rehabilitative services and consultation as a member of a mobile multi-disciplinary treatment team. This role is comprised of 80% field work, travel to visits clients in their home and other settings required.
- Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the ACT Team members.
- Assists through all phases of the vocational service provision.
- Performing routine clinical services as a member of the ACT Team.
- Responsible for the recipients and for charting services.
- Responsible portion or all of creating the service plan.
- Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change.
- Advocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BA degree in psychology, social work, or related field
- Must have two or more years’ experience working with persons who are seriously persistently mentally ill under the supervision of a certified rehabilitation counselor.
- Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Word/Excel.
- Ability to research material via the internet.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Basic knowledge of human services
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
