Surgical Technologist OR Cardiac Experience Required

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is a full‑service teaching hospital and Level I trauma center located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Join our team as a Surgical Technologist with required cardiac experience.

• Exposure & handling of hazardous waste.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and age‑related criteria pertinent to the patients served in the assigned area.
• Establishes priorities for patient care delivery and uses critical thinking skills to coordinate and complete patient care responsibilities independently or by appropriately delegating.
• Establishes effective caring relationships with staff, patients, families and other members of the health‑care team.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with members of the health‑care team, escalating situations appropriately.
• Promotes patient safety and quality including adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
• Demonstrates personal accountability for own professional practice and professional growth.
• Performs other duties as aligned with the mission and values of the organization.
• Creates and maintains a sterile field; reports any break in technique with proper follow‑up.
• Performs all the requirements of the Universal Protocol and Time Out in accordance with Hospital policy.
• Performs proper specimen handling according to laboratory guidelines. Universal precautions are observed and appropriate PPE utilized.

High School Diploma or equivalent; BLS certification (American Heart Association) required. 1–3 years of operating‑room experience preferred. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program through NBSTSA. Certification exam taken and passed within 12 months of program completion.

Cardiac experience required.

Certified Surgical Technologist;
Basic Life Support certification.

Hourly: $84,157.70 - $84,157.70 annually (subject to experience). For full‑time, approximate salary range $84,157 – $84,157.
