Controller, Finance & Banking, Corporate Finance

Our client is a fashion company. They seek a Controller to join their Brooklyn, NY office.

• Create, document, and implement internal accounting policies, workflows, and internal controls aligned with industry best practices, GAAP, and the financial structure of the company
• Manage and optimize the company's COGS structure
• Establish and maintain departmental actuals versus budget tracking frameworks
• Direct the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
• Present financial results and KPIs, and provide actionable recommendations for strategic decision-making
• Perform regular gross margin reviews and identify risks and opportunities to improve profitability
• Maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local tax requirements
• Partner with the Head of Finance to guide finance-related ERP needs and support cross-functional teams in the implementation of systems
• Build reporting tools and automated workflows
• Supervise AP, AR, inventory accounting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting operations

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Retail, consumer products, wholesale, manufacturing, or related industry preferred
• Strong knowledge of technology and ERP implementation
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
