Lead Toddler Teacher

Location: The Learning Experience – Brooklyn, Bushwick
Pay: $20–$23 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

The Learning Experience – Brooklyn (Bushwick) is seeking an experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to guide our 1- 2-year-old classroom. This role is ideal for a confident early childhood educator who enjoys leading a classroom, supporting toddler development, and creating a structured, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

Our toddler program focuses on independence, language development, social-emotional growth, and consistent routines through hands-on, play-based learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a toddler classroom in a safe, warm, and developmentally appropriate environment
  • Implement daily lessons aligned with The Learning Experience L.E.A.P. Curriculum
  • Support early language, motor skills, social interaction, and emotional development
  • Maintain consistent routines including meals, diapering or toileting, transitions, and rest time
  • Supervise and support assistant teachers to ensure classroom consistency and quality
  • Observe and document developmental milestones and classroom progress
  • Build strong relationships with families through daily communication
  • Maintain compliance with New York City Department of Health licensing requirements and center policies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred, or
  • CDA credential, or
  • High school diploma with 5 or more years of classroom experience
  • Experience working with toddlers in a licensed early childhood setting
  • Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to meet all NYC childcare licensing and background requirements
