EOC Student Service Manager - Student Support Advisement (EOC HEA)
POSITION DETAILSThe State University of New York, Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC), administered by New York City College of Technology/ CUNY, provides tuition-free academic and workforce development training to eligible New York State residents, offering a pathway to lifelong learning, college access and economic self-sufficiency. The BEOC welcomes applications for the position of EOC Student Services Manager – Student Support Advisement.
ROLE DESCRIPTIONThe EOC Student Services Manager – Student Support Advisement leads the BEOC student support advising team in delivering comprehensive, student-centered program assistance and guidance. This role oversees the provision of student support services, including individual and group advisement, professional and personal development programs, and referrals to both internal and community resources. The EOC Student Services Manager – Student Support Advisement is responsible for tracking student progress, facilitating the development and implementation of effective intervention methodologies, and fostering student success through proactive engagement and retention strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervise a team of Student Support Advisors to ensure effective student engagement, persistence, and program completion.
- Monitor student retention, progress, and attainment outcomes.
- Oversee student life and development activities, including student orientation and the student disciplinary process.
- Manage caseload assignments and maintain student services protocols; may carry an individual caseload.
- Direct student onboarding, intervention, mentorship, and transition activities.
- Collaborate with instructional and career services staff for holistic student support, and promote student awareness of EOC support services, policies and procedures.
- Utilize existing and emerging data systems to ensure accurate and timely documentation and communication of student interactions.
- Analyze and report on service outcomes and student engagement metrics.
- Train and develop student support advisement staff through coaching and professional development.
- Align student support advising operations with CUNY and BEOC policies and goals.
- Serve as liaison for internal and external student services partnerships and develop community resources for student support.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Master's degree in student personnel administration, higher education, counseling or related field
- Background in managing student supportive services and student life personnel and programs
- Experience in advising non-traditional students and those with academic deficits and life challenges, and knowledge of effective student support models
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Facility with Microsoft Suite applications and student success and engagement software platforms
Manages the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of student-related programs at an Educational Opportunity Center (EOC).
- Oversees a variety of student programs for the EOC, such as community outreach, orientation, admissions, testing, registration, student activities, and job placement
- Assists senior management in analyzing student needs and developing student service plans, implementing initiatives and assessing performance
- Develops relationships with college departments, university groups and outside agencies and community organizations to support and enhance student services
- Collects, analyzes and reports on student program activities, participation, and outcomes
- May supervise professional and/or clerical staff
- Performs related duties as assigned
EOC Higher Education Associate
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS$98,995 – $113,982. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
