Knowledge of Hebrew language and Judaic Studies, Jewish religious customs and holidays is a must!

Magen David Yeshivah is looking for Judaic Studies Lead Rabbi 2026-27 at our Brooklyn school. FT and PT positions are available. The school year is consistent with the Jewish calendar and closed during summer.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching Judaic Studies ( Minha, Torat Haim, Shaharit, GEMS, Tefliah, Gemara, Hesed, Dinim, Chumash, etc.)
  • The Head Teacher will design and maintain a classroom environment that facilitates active, hands‑on learning, group management, self‑expression and choice, and inclusion of all children, parents, volunteers and staff.
  • Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress.
  • Educate and support students to help them accomplish learning benchmarks.
  • Plan lessons that target specific skills and concepts.
  • Evaluate each student’s growth in knowledge and skills in the course being taught.
  • Cultivate core Jewish values such as kindness, respect, compassion and integrity within students.
  • Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including PTA and student clubs.
Qualifications
  • Head Teacher should have a Master’s degree and hold certification and/or NYS license in related fields with a minimum of 1‑3 years of teaching experience.
  • Rabbinical certification is required
