Overview
NYU Langone Health is seeking a skilled and motivated Sleep Medicine Attending Physician to join our outpatient clinical team. This position is designed for physicians with strong interest and experience in sleep disorders, with responsibilities centered on outpatient care, and the option to participate in inpatient service within Pulmonary or Critical Care Medicine, depending on training.
ResponsibilitiesSleep Medicine
- Provide outpatient care for patients with a broad range of sleep disorders, including sleep breathing disorders, circadian rhythm disorders, sleep related movement disorders, hypersomnolence disorders, parasomnia disorders, insomnia, and more.
- Interpret home and in-laboratory sleep testing in accordance with AASM standards and departmental workflows.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pulmonologists, neurologists, otolaryngologists, pediatricians, behavioral sleep medicine providers, and sleep technologists.
- Participate in sleep-related quality improvement, clinical pathways, or program development initiatives.
Optional Inpatient Responsibilities
- Serve on the Pulmonary Consult Service or in the Medical Intensive Care Unit.
- Supervise trainees including residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.
- Participate in call schedules as applicable.
Academic and Teaching Roles
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Engage in sleep-medicine-related educational activities, conferences, or curriculum development.
- Participate in scholarly work such as clinical research, QI projects, or publications, depending on interest and career goals.
Required
- MD or DO degree.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Sleep Medicine.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine (depending on scope of role).
- Eligibility for a New York State medical license.
Preferred
- Experience with home and in-laboratory sleep testing and sleep-related clinical workflows.
- Interest in hybrid practice combining outpatient sleep medicine with selective inpatient responsibilities.
- Commitment to academic medicine and trainee education.
