Architectural Designer

FXCollaborative is an established architectural, interior design, planning, and urban design firm based in Brooklyn, NY. The practice encompasses corporate, civic, cultural, educational, transportation, residential, hospitality, office, retail, and mixed-use projects on a variety of scales.

We are currently seeking an Architectural Designer with 3-5 years of experience. Candidates must be self-motivated and enjoy working collaboratively with team members and consultant teams with a willingness to learn.

Position Responsibilities:

• Strong conceptual design ability and advanced graphic representation skills.
• Work on programming research, zoning research, massing, orientation studies & design studies.
• Prepare presentation drawings representing design intent.
• Render design ideas in forms of scale drawings, 3-D models, sketches, illustrations, and physical models.
• Research materials, products and furnishings based on project design goals.
• With guidance, work on construction documents and coordinate review of shop drawings during construction phase.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 3-5 years of post-graduation experience required.
• Able to prioritize and multi-task.
• Must be proactive, detail-oriented and a self-starter.
• Must be hardworking and a team player.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Candidate should be proficient with Rhino, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, Adobe Graphics Suite, and other related design software.
