Bookkeeper

Location: Brooklyn, New York
Position Type: Part-Time (20–30 Hours Per Week) In-Office with Hybrid Flexibility
Schedule: Monday through Friday, Standard Business Hours
Salary: Based on Experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our growing team. This role is responsible for hands-on bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and receivable, cash flow monitoring, tax compliance support, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with our internal team and external accounting partners.

This position offers in-office work with hybrid flexibility and is well-suited for a highly organized professional who enjoys managing financial details in a fast-paced, growing business environment.

Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Manage weekly accounts payable, prepare reports, and process vendor payments
  • Oversee weekly accounts receivable, including issuing invoices, communicating with customers, following up on outstanding payments, and issuing credit memos
  • Work with a third-party wholesale sales application and Quick Books Online to manage billing and collections
Tax Compliance & Cash Flow Management
  • Collaborate with a third-party sales tax company to ensure monthly compliance and timely payments across all applicable states
  • Monitor daily cash flow and provide updates and insights as needed
  • Support accurate financial tracking to ensure business continuity and compliance
Reporting & Financial Support
  • Prepare monthly wholesale sales representative commission reports and process related payments
  • Prepare monthly pro sales reports and issue corresponding invoices
  • Assist with month-end close activities in coordination with the company’s accounting firm
Payroll & General Bookkeeping
  • Support payroll processing and related bookkeeping tasks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Assist with additional bookkeeping and accounting-related tasks as needed
Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency with Quick Books Online is required
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Professional Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting with customers, vendors, and external partners
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
  • Reliable, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach
