Nova is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to support accounting operations across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and project-related financial reporting.
This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent communication skills.
- Process and match vendor and subcontractor invoices with POs; enter into accounting systems.
- Process vendor bills, maintain accurate records, and perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Manage weekly payment schedules, issue payments, and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Verify expense coding, issue tax-exempt forms, and support AP reporting.
- Upload invoices, payments, and supporting documentation to SharePoint.
- Enter invoices and payments, deposit checks, and reconcile customer balances.
- Prepare monthly payroll, payroll tax calculations, and quarterly filings.
- Maintain payroll records and support related inquiries.
- Track insurance policies, renewals, and required documentation to ensure active coverage.
- Prepare financial schedules and documentation to support annual tax filings.
- Coordinate with external accountants as needed.
- Prepare monthly treasury reports and assist with cash flow monitoring.
- Maintain organized digital records for vehicle registrations, insurance, inspections, and fuel/gas logs.
- Ensure audit-ready compliance for all vehicle-related documentation.
- 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in construction or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of A/P, A/R, payroll, and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and time-management abilities.
