The Real Time Operations Center Analyst will primarily work in the Brooklyn Park Police Department Real-Time Operations Center. This position will be responsible for the management of drone assets to support patrol operations. This position will also monitor, collect and analyze information obtained from a multitude of sources, including cameras, UAS (unmanned aircraft systems), databases, etc. and will disseminate that information in support of patrol operations in the field.
This is a non-supervisory position. This position will be responsible for supporting patrol operations through the dissemination of intelligence information. This information may come from a wide variety of sources. Those information sources often change and evolve as new technologies are introduced.
General HoursMonday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the expectation the analyst may be called in or expected to work outside of these hours to meet the needs of the Department. This is an exempt (salaried) position. This position does not earn overtime.
- Operate and manage a fleet of Skydio unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) under a Drone as First Responder (DFR) model to support sworn personnel during calls for service and critical incidents.
- Pilot department drones in compliance with FAA regulations, state law, and department policy; obtain and maintain FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification within a specified timeframe after appointment.
- Utilize Axon Real-Time Operations Center (RTOC) software and integrated platforms, including Fusus, to monitor, manage, and analyze real-time video, sensor, and data feeds.
- Collect, evaluate, and synthesize real-time information from multiple databases, camera systems, and technology platforms to enhance situational awareness for field personnel.
- Communicate timely and actionable information to officers, supervisors, and dispatch personnel using 800 MHz digital radio systems and other authorized communication tools.
- Provide operational and technological support during critical incidents, including pursuits, missing person incidents, perimeter operations, search operations, and special events.
- Monitor live surveillance, fixed camera, body‑wear camera, and drone video feeds to identify developing situations, officer safety concerns, and relevant operational information.
- Review and analyze recorded video, drone footage, and digital media to identify potential evidentiary value and assist sworn personnel with investigations.
- Coordinate with dispatchers, sworn personnel, supervisors, and command staff to support incident response, resource deployment, and operational decision‑making.
- Maintain accurate records of drone flights, intelligence activities, and technology usage in accordance with department policy, legal requirements, and data retention standards.
- Perform routine equipment checks and ensure readiness, functionality, and proper documentation of drones and associated technology systems.
- Adhere to privacy, data security, and evidence‑handling requirements while performing all duties.
- Oversee a fleet of 12 UAS drones.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate.
- One (1) year of progressively responsible experience in using drones or related fields or a combination of the same.
- CJIS training completed upon hire.
- FAA Part 107 UAS pilot license within six months of hire.
An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered.

- Must be able to utilize Axon Technology Suite.
- Ability to interact with a variety of camera systems.
- Ability to utilize Hennepin County Armer radio system and other means to communicate with officers.
- Advanced knowledge of law enforcement related topics.
- Ability to understand and be able to operate in a dynamic and rapidly evolving law enforcement environment where real‑time support is being provided to patrol officers in the field.
