Responsibilities

Are you a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? At Prairie Care, we are seeking dedicated Psychiatric/Mental Health RNs to provide exceptional care for our adolescent (ages 4-18) and young adult (ages 18-35) patients facing psychiatric and mental health challenges.

What You'll Do
:

  • Conduct impactful assessments and monitor daily functioning to guide patient care.
  • Use your critical thinking skills to deliver safe, high-quality nursing care.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Create a nurturing therapeutic environment while minimizing restraint and seclusion.
  • Engage patients through planning and facilitating exciting nursing groups.
  • Administer medications accurately and empower patients and families with education.
  • Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Skillfully intervene in crisis situations using effective de-escalation techniques.
Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Nursing Degree; BSN preferred.
  • Licensure
    :
    Current RN licensure with the Minnesota State Board of Nursing is a must.
  • Experience
    :
    Ideally, you bring at least 1 year of psychiatric/mental health nursing experience within the past two years.
  • Certifications
    :
    Professional certifications such as RN ANCC Certification in Mental Health Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, or Holistic Health are a fantastic bonus!
  • Critical Thinking
    :
    Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate complex situations with confidence.
  • Communication Skills
    :
    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to make sound judgment calls in high-pressure scenarios.
  • Multitasking
    :
    Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently while prioritizing effectively.
  • Team Player
    : A positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Tech-Savvy
    :
    Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Crisis Management
    :
    Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team in volatile or emergent situations.
  • Quality Focus
    : A proactive mindset that seeks to improve quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.

Pay range for this position is $37.92 to $58.68 depending on education and experience.
