** North Hennepin Community College, one of the most diverse and vibrant two-year colleges in Minnesota, is accepting applications for
** one (1) full-time, unlimited, Biology Faculty**.The Biology Department at NHCC is an engaged faculty interested in delivering the highest level of instruction to our students. Faculty members work as a team to consistently deliver content to students interested in pursuing their AS in Biology, as well as other professional programs in the allied health sciences. In partnership with Bemidji State University, students can earn their baccalaureate degree in Biology at the NHCC campus.

** The successful candidate will:

* Teach a broad spectrum of biology courses (lecture and laboratory).
* Teach in-person as well as alternative delivery modes, including asynchronous online and hybrid formats.
* Develop and revise instructional and assessment materials.
* Participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes.
* Participate in department, division, and college matters through service on committees and attendance at regular meetings.
* Maintain continued professional development in Biology as well as in the areas of teaching and learning.

* Minimum Qualifications:
*** Master's degree with a major in Biology, or
* Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in Biology.
*
* Preferred Qualifications:
*** PhD in Biology.
* Experience as a primary instructor teaching a variety of college-level Biology courses with laboratory.
* Experience teaching Ecology or Environmental Science courses.
* Familiarity or willingness to teach Microbiology.
* Experience teaching undergraduates in a community college setting.
* Evidence of commitment to student success and persistence.
* Experience with learner outcomes assessment and evaluation.
* Demonstrated ability to educate adult learners, multi-lingual learners, students with disabilities, and international students.
* Experience serving diverse and historically underserved populations.
* Evidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
* Working knowledge of alternative instructional techniques and delivery methods such as online education, education platforms (D2L Brightspace), active learning strategies, etc.

** Salary Range:
** Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the bargaining unit agreement. Entry-level range is $51,303 - $94,542 for a nine-month academic year, plus excellent benefits.
Full-time, unlimited faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits, including health insurance (95% employer paid single premium or 90% employer paid family premium); life insurance; optional dental, short-and long-term disability and long-term care insurance; paid personal and sick leave; defined benefits and defined contribution (401(a) retirement plans); tuition waiver for employees and dependents; and optional 457 and 403(b) retirement savings plans.
Under the collective bargaining agreement with the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF), new faculty to the system receive a salary placement based on education and related experience after accepting a job offer.
