Major Function
Provides customers with comprehensive information to solve their problems or assist them in making sound decisions and achieve customer satisfaction. Handles customer complaints and provides resolution, brings manager's attention when necessary to ensure that proper and satisfactory service is delivered.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Answering inbound phone calls in a professional and helpful manner.
- Making outbound phone calls in response to any inquiries, questions, or other follow up.
- Confirm account number, part number & descriptions.
- Communicate availability, open orders, and ship dates to customers.
- Confirm pricing & availability.
- Answer customer service inquiries by phone or email as assigned and meet statistical expectations set by supervisor (refer to grid).
- Support administrative duties of sending and receiving supplier purchase orders.
- Issue credits and rebills according to policy and procedure while multi‑tasking.
- Prioritize projects/responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Desire a minimum of 2 years inbound/outbound call experience in a customer service or manufacturing environment.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Previous experience as customer service rep, receptionist, call center agent, data entry clerk, or other similar role.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to analyze problems and solve work‑related issues.
- Job involves working in front of a computer screen.
- Solid attendance and reliability.
- Accountable and quality‑driven.
- High level of professionalism and solution‑oriented decision making.
- Team oriented with a solution mentality.
- Familiar with MS Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Suite).
