The Role

We are seeking an experienced Machine Builder to join our team, specializing in the assembly and construction of high‑precision adhesive and sealant dispensing equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex mechanical and electrical systems. This is an on‑site position located in Brooklyn Center, MN. Only local candidates will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, build, and integrate precision dispensing equipment according to engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate machine construction.
  • Install and configure mechanical components, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and electrical controls.
  • Perform mechanical adjustments and calibrations to meet precise dispensing specifications.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues during the build and test process.
  • Document build processes, deviations, and improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality checks.
  • Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to provide feedback on design improvements and buildability.
  • Ensure all machines meet quality standards and safety requirements before release.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following proper handling procedures for tools and components.
  • Support and adhere to all safety procedures and complete all required safety training.
  • Identify and support improvement opportunities for processes in order to support company objectives and customer expectations.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods.
  • Good hand‑eye coordination and fine motor skills.
  • Visual acuity to inspect small components and read detailed documentation.
Experience And Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience building precision machinery or automated equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical assembly principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems and fluid dispensing equipment.
  • Experience with adhesive dispensing systems or similar precision fluid handling equipment.
  • Background in automation or robotics.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and basic programming.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills for working with team members and documenting work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple builds simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
