Salary Range: 42,500+

• The Special Education Teacher collaborates with teachers, educational assistants, service providers, IEP teams, the principal, and the Special Education Director to cultivate and sustain a culture of learning that meets the diverse needs of students, staff, and families.
• Develops effective parent, teacher, and student communications;
• Plans and facilitates highly-effective instruction, and adheres to due-process guidelines and timelines.
• Maintain due process compliance following all state and federal requirements and laws
• Instructs using research-based teaching strategies for students with disabilities
• Uses assessment data to drive the instructional cycle for students with disabilities
• Monitors learning and provides feedback to students
• Uses appropriate Special Education instructional materials and curriculum
• Analyzes assessment data and develops plans to respond to available data for students with disabilities
• Receives direction from the Special Education Director and Coordinator regarding due process and instruction
• Proactively engages in professional development opportunities
• Collaborates with general education teachers to meet the needs of students with disabilities
• Provides oversight and direction to paraprofessionals
• Participates in NMA’s Special Education team meetings, PLC meetings, and other staff meetings
• Conducts IEP meetings; listens and responds to parent concerns with sensitivity
• Follows and enforces school policies and cooperates with social service agencies
• Attends conferences, workshops, and meetings to learn current Special Education practices and educational trends
• Performs duties as assigned by the principal

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required
• Current teaching licensure in Special Education required
