Job Description SummaryWe are evaluating a vaccine for preventing and/or treating genital herpes. The vaccine is an mRNA-based vaccine that was developed in our lab based on basic discoveries we made over the years. Our candidate vaccine is currently in human trials. Although we are not involved in those trials, our studies are evaluating new applications for the next generation of the vaccine.
Our preclinical vaccine studies are performed in animal models, mice and guinea pigs. We are looking for candidates with laboratory experience. We prefer someone who has experience working with mice and/or guinea pigs. Being willing to work with small animals, after appropriate training, is a requirement. Other requirements are a college degree. People with advanced degrees, including master’s and/or PhD, are welcome to apply.
Job Responsibilities
Work, as part of a team, to score genital lesions and perform vaginal swabs on guinea pigs
Perform antibody binding assays (ELISA) on sera obtained from guinea pigs and mice
Perform neutralizing antibody assays on sera obtained from guinea pigs and mice
Work, as part of a team, to assist with vaccine studies in mice
Assist with purifying HSV DNA for qPCR assays
Other duties as assigned.
CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING
Qualifications- Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level.
