Position: Pharmacy Liaison New Brookline, MA

Overview

The Company is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter to join as a Pharmacy Technician in a fast-growing specialty pharmacy management services environment. The role requires state registration, with national certification (CPhT) preferred but not required. The ideal candidate can work independently, build credible relationships with patients, clinicians, and internal staff, and maintain a strong focus on patient quality and service. Strong administrative and organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication (in person and on the phone) are essential.

The candidate should be reliable, empathetic, and able to work as part of a close-knit team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a full suite of custom medication management services and high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with hospital clinicians to serve patients face-to-face and by phone as a member of the clinic team.
  • Educate prospective patients on how the hospital pharmacy services improve care.
  • Support outpatient retail and specialty prescription medication needs.
  • Grow the specialty pharmacy patient population.
  • Ensure patients stay on track with medication regimens, including outbound adherence checks and refill coordination.
  • Communicate with the centralized Patient Service Center regarding refill, zero-fill, monthly outstanding, and appointment reports.
  • Help develop new processes to improve operations and patient care.
  • Identify medications requiring special storage/handling (e.g., hazardous, refrigerated).
  • Identify supplies needed for medications (e.g., sharps containers, needles, alcohol swabs, Band-Aids).
  • Answer, resolve, and triage inquiries; perform refill reminder calls under pharmacist supervision.
  • Resolve insurance issues (including prior authorizations) and assist patients with financial assistance forms.
  • Document accurately in all required systems/tracking mechanisms; manage and update relevant data using database applications.
  • Apply observations to improve operations, productivity, quality, and customer service; participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a value-added business partner to stakeholders and protect confidential information.
  • Maintain knowledge through continuing education and professional development; support the company’s betterment efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Traits
  • Strong interpersonal communication; ability to work independently with good judgment; excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); quick learner of additional software; strong organizational and administrative skills.

Experience, Education & Licensure
  • Required:

    High School Diploma or GED; 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience; state registration as a pharmacy technician.
  • Preferred:
    National certification as a CPhT or equivalent; willingness to obtain any additional licensure within an agreed timeframe.
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Knowledge of transplant, hepatitis C, infectious disease (including HIV), and/or oncology a plus.
Compensation & Benefits

This information is provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities. Salary range: $57,000.00 to $68,000.00 plus bonus, per terms of any applicable bonus plan. Actual salary depends on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors allowed by law.
