South Dakota State University (SDSU) Student Life Building Services is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a part time Senior Building Maintenance Worker within our University Housing department.

SDState is the state’s largest, most comprehensive university with over $94 million annual research expenditures, more than 200 academic programs and an enrollment of approximately 12,000 students. This position is located in Brookings.

Job Responsibilities:

The primary role of this position is to provide skilled support by way of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance for Housing and Residential life buildings and/or University Student Union/food service, as well as back up support for the Wellness Center. To be successful as a Senior Building Maintenance Worker, candidates should be self-motivated, excel in customer service and practice strong attention to detail.

  • Paints and coatings

Skill & Ability to:

Read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

  • Operate various types of power and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Follow written and verbal directions.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with contractors, coworkers, and customers.

Required License: Valid driver’s license is required.

Comments:
This position requires occasional weekends/holidays.
