South Dakota State University (SDSU) Student Life Building Services is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a part time Senior Building Maintenance Worker within our University Housing department.

This position is located in Brookings.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Job Responsibilities:

The primary role of this position is to provide skilled support by way of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance for Housing and Residential life buildings and/or University Student Union/food service, as well as back up support for the Wellness Center. To be successful as a Senior Building Maintenance Worker, candidates should be self-motivated, excel in customer service and practice strong attention to detail.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

* Methods and practices used in carpentry.

* Basic plumbing

* HVAC systems

* Paints and coatings

Skill & Ability to:

* Read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

* Operate various types of power and hand tools safely and effectively.

* Communicate clearly and concisely.

* Follow written and verbal directions.

* Interact effectively and professionally with contractors, coworkers, and customers.

* Operate grounds care equipment.

Required License:
Valid driver's license is required.

Comments:
This position requires occasional weekends/holidays.
