• 5/8s Schedule, Primary Schedule – The primary work hours for this position are 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime required as needed.

Position located in Brookings, South Dakota in our Facilities department.

• Maintenance troubleshooting and small repair of plumbing.
• Maintenance troubleshooting and small repair of electrical.
• Furniture cubicle installation and maintenance.
• Maintain building grounds by removing trash on property.
• Complete seasonal mowing, weeding, edging, and irrigation maintenance.
• Responsible for snow removal from sidewalks, loading docks, and parking lots and streets. Work with subcontractors for lawn mowing and snow removal from parking lots.
• Painting and light construction in facility as needed.
• Work unsupervised safely and effectively. Must be able to follow instructions.
• Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires.
• Other duties as needed to assist Maintenance department.
• Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department.

To be considered for the Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Position, we require the following:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Prefer experience operating various types of material handling equipment or will train. Skid Steer, plow, mowers, and other equipment as required.
• Be able to lift heavy (up to 50 lbs.) and/or awkward items and stand for a full shift.
• Ability to work with some odors.
  
  Ability to work with minimum supervision and organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.
• Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Driving Eligibility Requirements. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
• Fluent in English, written and verbal.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
