South Dakota State University (SDSU) is currently seeking a Laboratory Program Assistant with strong attention to detail and good organizational skills to join our Animal Disease Research & Diagnostic Lab (ADRDL). The South Dakota Animal Disease Research & Diagnostic Laboratory is a full service, AAVLD accredited diagnostic laboratory that conducts approximately 500,000 veterinary diagnostic tests a year.
This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
ResponsibilitiesTo provide laboratory support for the specimen receiving and all diagnostic sections at the ADRDL. The fundamental purpose of this position is to assist program professionals while following established SOPs to track and accession animal samples in support of pathology and ante-mortem testing at ADRDL; decide how best to manage, track, and reflect changes in information in support of the sample submission process;
and manage technical activities related to organization of sample submissions, reporting and billing. In performing these duties, this position performs activities that require understanding of ADRDL invoicing procedures. In addition, this position will also answer the phone and direct calls, distribute mail and answer emails.

- Obtain a rabies vaccine (ADRDL will cover the cost).
