We are seeking Bioprocess Operator to carry out hands-on execution of client bioprocesses at the laboratory through pilot scales including precision fermentation and downstream processing. Operators will work directly with the bioprocess engineering and operations staff, operating equipment safely and efficiently per provided SOPs, performing preventative maintenance, and contributing to repair and cleaning of all equipment associated with bioprocessing operations.

Desired Qualifications- Hands-on experience with bioprocess R&D OR pilot-scale equipment and unit operations - e.g. batching/ sterilizing/ operating bioreactors, continuous centrifugation, tangential flow filtration, high pressure homogenization, spray drying, etc.
- Ability to follow SOPs and process-specific instructions and maintain batch record documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss complex technical concepts with a variety of audiences.

- This role primarily operates on a 3:00 PM–12:00 AM shift. Occasional flexibility may be needed to cover hours outside the normal schedule.
- Operate and monitor bioreactors, centrifuges, filtration systems, and other production equipment.
- Prepare media, buffers, and reagents for fermentation and downstream processes.
- Perform in-process sampling and analysis.
- Maintain accurate batch records, logbooks, and production documentation.
- Assist with cleaning (CIP/SIP) and sterilization of equipment and production areas.
- Coordinate vendor service calls and equipment calibrations.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of shop areas, utility rooms, and storage spaces.
- Conduct basic fabrication, assembly, and modification of lab and production fixtures.
- Assist with facility improvement projects and general upkeep.
- Maintain boiler and cooling systems including water testing and treatment.
- Maintain all facilities mechanical equipment including, but not limited to: motors, pumps, air compressor, RO/DI water systems, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Maintain all facilities bioprocessing equipment including, but not limited to: bioreactors, centrifuges, spray dryer, PLCs, heat exchangers, autoclaves and pump carts
- Troubleshoot equipment issues
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions on the equipment.
- Work with the management team to identify issues and address unsafe conditions.
- Operate equipment including but not limited to: forklifts and hand trucks.
- Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication on plant and structural equipment.
- Clearly and concisely communicate with other departments.
- Comply with all safety requirements, adhere to standard operating procedures and process-specific instructions, maintain batch records and process data capture according to good documentation practices.
Works closely with engineering, laboratory, and other operations staff and can operate in multiple environments always adhering to safety requirements. Team members can be exposed to noise, heat, and other elements inside and outside the plant environment. While performing the duties of this position, the team members may be exposed to moving and mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and chemicals.
Must be able to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
