JOB SUMMARY:
The Lead Youth Development Professional will plan, organize, implement, supervise, and evaluate daily programs and activities for youth. This role involves coordinating with other staff to ensure a safe, enriching, and supportive environment. The Lead Youth Development Professionalis responsible for overseeing the supervision of youth and managing the Youth Development Professionals.
Responsibilities- The Lead Youth Development Professional will plan, organize, implement, supervise, and evaluate daily programs and activities for youth. This role involves coordinating with other staff to ensure a safe, enriching, and supportive environment. The Lead Youth Development Professionalis responsible for overseeing the supervision of youth and managing the Youth Development Professionals.
- Must be able to provide leadership, on-the-spot and reflective feedback, and supervision to assigned
Youth Development Professional/volunteers. - Develop and organize daily programs and activities for youth that are engaging, educational, and promote positive development.
- Ensure programs align with the Club’s goals and meet the needs of all youth participants.
- Commitment to youth safety; to include adequate supervision of youth, as well as providing a safe and welcoming environment.
- Foster effective communication with parents,community and school.
- Assist with youth having behavioral challengesandsupport corrective methods andplans.
- Ensures an environment thatfacilitatescleanliness, attractiveness and safety ofmembers,properties and equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants, addressing any issues or conflicts that arise.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Commitment to working four days a week
- Committed to working school year hours (M, T, TH, F: 3:00-6:00pm) (W: 2:30-6:00PM)
- Commitment to working at the Club during the summer 25-35hours. (Open M-F: 7:30-6:00PM)
- Valid CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain
CPR certification within
90 daysof employment. We provide this training in-house if you are not currently certified!
Must be of the mental and physical capacity toobserve, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, etc. at the Club to ensure safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection per the Clubpriority outcomes and goals.
Ability to stand/sit forlong periodsof time throughout a shift.
This position is considered to besafety-sensitive.
