Job Description Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities
Role model the 3A’s of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate our CustomersPromote Corporate Brands to customersPromote trust and respect among associatesCreate an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the storeGain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about productsAssist with the preparation produce platters/traysInform customers of produce specialsRecommend items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and needAdequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandiseReview/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action with those itemsLabel, stock and inventory department merchandiseReport product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department managerDisplay a positive attitudeStay current with present, future, seasonal and special adsEnsure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintainedReinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store managementPractice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repairNotify management of customer or employee accidentsReport all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud to store managementAbility to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environmentAbility to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative mannerAbility to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business informationAbility to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issuesProvide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adultsMust be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationQualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Current food handlers permit once employed
Desired Previous Job Experience
- Comparable Retail experience
- Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
