Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned mathematics curriculum for high school students across Honors and AP-level Algebra and Calculus courses.

* Design and deliver lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and conceptual understanding of advanced math topics.

* Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including real-world application problems, mathematical modeling, graphing technology, and collaborative learning structures.

* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students needing additional support as well as those seeking rigorous academic challenge.

* Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments; provide timely feedback and adjust instruction based on data and student progress.

* Collaborate with colleagues in the mathematics department to align curriculum, share best practices, and support vertical alignment across grade levels.

* Guide students in developing strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate mathematical thinking effectively.

* Maintain accurate records of student performance, complete required documentation, and participate in team meetings, parent communication, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

* Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Mathematics (029, 034, 229, or applicable) Preferred but not required as assignment might continue beyond 60 days

* Experience teaching high school mathematics, preferably including Honors and/or AP-level courses.

* Strong knowledge of high school mathematics curriculum frameworks, instructional best practices, and assessment strategies.

* Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly with students, families, and school staff.

* Passion for fostering confidence, curiosity, and a love of mathematics in high school learners.
