Position: Program Specialist - 4966

As a team member, you'll help guide clients through essential services that improve economic stability and well-being. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Screen clients for government benefits and entitlement programs.
  • Schedule appointments, virtual meetings, and email communications.
  • Provide internal and external service referrals.
  • Conduct client advocacy and follow-up.
  • Document all client interactions and progress in Salesforce.
  • Collect required documents for benefits applications.
  • Participate in community outreach and support food pantry activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual both verbal and written preferred.
  • Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile, and copier equipment.
  • Proficiency in virtual meeting platforms is preferred.
  • One year experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor and document client progress toward service-plan goals.
  • Record all client interactions and actions taken on their behalf.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of on-site and off-site program resources.
  • Screen clients for eligibility for government benefits and entitlement programs.
  • Schedule appointments, virtual meetings, and email communications to support client needs.
  • Coordinate case conferences with clients and service providers as required.
  • Participate in community outreach activities and field work as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
