Job Summary:
The RN House Supervisor provides administrative and clinical oversight of hospital operations during assigned shifts. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care across all departments by coordinating staffing, managing patient flow, and serving as the primary leadership contact in the absence of senior administration. The House Supervisor supports nursing staff, resolves operational issues, and ensures compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee hospital-wide operations during assigned shifts.
- Coordinate staffing levels and make real-time adjustments based on census and acuity.
- Serve as the administrative representative in the absence of executive leadership.
- Support nursing staff with clinical guidance and conflict resolution.
- Monitor patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Respond to emergencies, rapid responses, and code situations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and accreditation standards.
- Address patient and family concerns to promote satisfaction and quality care.
- Collaborate with department leaders to maintain smooth operational workflow.
- Document shift reports and communicate critical updates to leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license in NY.
- At least 2 years of experience
- AHA - ACLS, BLS required.
- Note:
This is a Off Shift Patient Care Manager role - must have experience/skills :
- conflict resolution and mediation between staff or patients.
- Able to quickly identify and address operational and clinical issues.
- Understanding of nursing practice and standards in addition to abiding by the respective collective bargaining agreements.
- All scripts experience.
