Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements

Job Summary

• Monitors patients for food and drug interactions and provides related education
• Records food and drug interactions in the education section
• Consults with physicians regarding appropriate diet modifications

Job Responsibilities

• Screens and assesses patients accurately and timely based on level of care
• Determines patients' nutritional needs, status, and provides follow-up care
• Interviews patients and/or families to obtain food history and preferences
• Interprets relevant laboratory, physical, and social data for nutrition care
• Provides nutrition education and documents diet instructions and patient understanding
• Modifies patient menus as needed

Required Skills & Experience

• Two (2) years of experience

Required Education

• Graduate from an accredited college/university with a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition

Preferred Education

• Master's degree

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Post-Acute Care: New York State Certification issued by NYSED as a "Dietitian-Nutritionist”
• Acute Care: Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (Primary Source Verification required)
• AHA BLS
