* Position Summary:
** The Design Engineer is responsible for conducting comprehensive technical analyses of our products, including associated tooling, to establish well-defined, documented functional design principles and dimensions in order to meet customer requirements for their applications. This role ensures seamless compatibility between products within various product lines and leads quality improvement or productivity projects for existing products. As a key member of the engineering team, the Design Engineer II fosters strong collaboration across departments, conducts product audits, and disseminates technical product knowledge to internal functions.

* Job Requirements:
*** Conduct detailed technical analyses of Oseco Elfab products and associated tooling to establish fully defined and documented design principles and dimensions.
* Ensure compatibility between products across various product lines.
* Lead quality improvement and productivity projects for existing products.
* Build collaborative relationships with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Production teams.
* Conduct Product Audits and disseminate technical product knowledge to relevant functions.
* Prepare and present technical training for internal teams.
* Identify critical product features and dimensions, reducing product development cycle time and eliminating design risk areas.
* Collaborate in Kaizen and 5S projects to drive operational excellence.
* Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess feasibility.
* Create and maintain Engineering Product Documentation, including Design Standards and Tooling Standards.
* Identify and document future product design opportunities and present them to Segment teams for potential IP opportunities.
* Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.
* Plan daily, weekly, and monthly workload, aligning priorities with objectives.
* Develop engineering analyses of our products for customer provided applications.
* Design and establish manufacturing specifications for new products and adapted products to fulfil customer needs in their application.

* Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
*** Proficiency in drafting technical articles and documentation.
* Familiarity with modern problem-solving methodologies (Ishikawa, 8D, DFMEA, DOE, etc.).
* Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions.
* Ability to interpret and analyse technical documents, regulations, and standards.
* Effective presentation skills to mid-management and board-level executives.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
* Strong collaboration skills with team members.
* Proficiency in reading, analysing, and interpreting technical materials.
* Ability to prepare technical training materials and articles.
* Proficient problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication with customers and suppliers.
* Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
** Education and Certification
Qualifications:
*** Bachelor's degree or university program certificate.
* 5+ years of applicable experience in an Engineering & Manufacturing environment.
* Experience in Mechanical, Test, Quality, or Product Development.
