Transition Services is a community‑based program with a focus on connections to adult resources and services, postsecondary education options, and integrated employment including supported employment. This community‑based program serves young adults, 18‑21 years of age, who have a wide range of different abilities.
Experience- Experience working in school settings on a transdisciplinary team.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Flexibility and time management skills a must.
- Case management responsibilities, basic computer skills, knowledge of Special Education policies and procedures required.
- Completed a minimum of 100 clock hours of school field experiences supervised by a certified Speech Language Pathologist.
- At least one year of experience working with students with special needs preferred.
Successful applicants must be properly licensed for assignment as a Professional Educator according to the Colorado Department of Education.
- Eligible to hold a CDE Speech/Language Assistant authorization certificate.
- CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred.
- Nationally recognized crisis prevention training preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication or Disorders/Speech Sciences or successful completion of a School Speech Language Pathology Assistant program from an institution whose program meets or exceeds recommended guidelines established by the American Speech/Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
While you may look up your estimated salary on the linked salary schedule, updates for the school year are contingent upon negotiated increases that are approved by the LPS Board of Education in the summer season. Additionally, know that these salary values are based on a 1.0 FTE working 187 contract days.
