McMillen, Inc. is looking for a Project Manager to join our growing construction division. This position requires traveling to projects throughout the Southern Central states and involves managing heavy civil jobs ranging from $5M to $75M. The Project Manager will report to the Operations Manager and oversee project planning, coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and implementation across a variety of delivery methods including hard bid, Construction Management, and Design‑Build.
Initial assignment will be located in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
All construction division offers of employment are contingent upon a background check, drug screen, and, as required by clients, security clearance.
Responsibilities- Manage mid to large scale projects with moderate to high risk levels.
- Operate with minimal oversight from the Construction Operations Manager and Director of Construction/VP.
- Oversee multiple construction projects at varying stages of completion.
- Coordinate with Construction Operations Manager to ensure project performance aligns with goals.
- Implement Corporate Safety Policy on all assigned projects.
- Mentor and guide Assistant Project Managers, Project Assistants, and Project Engineers.
- Generate work plans for all assigned projects.
- Schedule projects logically and budget time required to meet deadlines.
- Determine labor requirements and coordinate dispatch with manpower coordinator.
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and regulations.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer.
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Obtain all necessary permits and licenses or coordinate with environmental and regulatory staff to ensure compliance before mobilization.
- Fill in for Project Superintendents and supervise workers as needed.
- Study job specifications to determine general requirements and construction methods.
- Requisition supplies and materials to complete projects.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress cost tracking reports.
- Develop and implement quality control programs.
- Manage delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the construction site.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve issues.
- Investigate damage, accidents, or delays to ensure proper procedures.
- Evaluate construction methods and determine cost‑effectiveness using computers.
- Provide project management duties on multi‑faceted projects including leading medium to large‑scale Design‑Build projects.
- Review owner contracts and project estimates at design phases (30%, 60%, etc.).
- Provide constructability review and coordinate with design engineers to incorporate constructability into final design.
- Create outgoing correspondence to clients, subcontractors, and other entities, ensuring accuracy, quality, and professionalism.
- Review, edit, and ensure all submitted documents comply with McMillen format.
- Assist in preparation of Owner Payment Applications.
- Provide project closeout documents as required to facilitate substantial completion, initiating warranty periods.
- Track projects through warranty period and provide final closeout documentation upon completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or minimum of 5 years comparable experience.
- Minimum 5‑8 years of experience with heavy civil design‑build projects managing all aspects from design, approvals, procurement, construction, and implementation.
- Pay range: $107,634 – $134,543 (DOE)
