The Critical Care RN assumes full responsibility for the quality of nursing care she/he provides to patients and their family members. Included in such responsibility is health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning, comfort and restoration of optimal functioning. Responsibility may also include dignified death of our patients. The RN provides care that addresses the specific needs of all age groups from adolescent to elderly, individualized to a variety of impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, non-English speaking, and potential victims of abuse.
The RN incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, mission, vision, and values into nursing practice.
- Education:
Nursing Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred);
Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required. - Experience:
3 years critical care experience or completion of transition to Critical Care course. Must maintain required competencies to perform in a CCU setting. - Certification/Licensure: MA RN license, BLS, ACLS, TCAR or TNCC.
