Position: Skills Trainer - Central/South Valley Region

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 supports with significant consideration to sensory sensitivities
  • Facilitate productive play activities to teach and reinforce skills development
  • Teach and support individuals both in the home and in the community with ADLs and IADLs (examples include but are not limited to: transportation, using technology, money management, hygiene tasks, and laundry)
  • Serve as an advocate for individuals and families at various community levels
  • Support individuals and families to participate in social and recreational activities that encourage networking, formation of natural supports, and peer support.
  • Coordinate and work collaboratively with other service providers and family as needed to implement treatment planning objectives
  • Conduct all job responsibilities in a way that respects the rights, privacy, and dignity of the client and adheres to all contractual regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or HiSet is required
  • At least 1 year of experience in the ABA field strongly preferred
  • BCBA or ABA certification highly preferred
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with concepts related to neurodiversity strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with community-based human service professionals and staff.
  • Flexibility to meet the schedule needs of individuals and families
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance are required to transport clients throughout the community.
