About Us

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeast Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness.

High Point’s Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) provides methadone treatment to adults age 18 and older with opioid use disorder. The OTP is focused on individualized treatment. Treatment plans are created with the patient and primary clinician and then reviewed by the multi-disciplinary treatment team with the medical director signing off. Populations served include but are not limited to men, women, pregnant women, patients with chronic illnesses, and dually diagnosed mental health disorders.

  • Must present as courteous and professional at all times
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO’s electronic medical records
  • Must have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative manner
  • An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
  • An understanding of boundaries and ethics
  • Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations and best practice processes and protocol in the provision of highest quality client care
  • TB screening
  • Certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program
  • CPR Certification (minimum one per shift, all staff on IPS)
  • Ability to engage and maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Knowledge of major clinical therapeutic models and behavioral health best practice
  • Knowledge of DSM‑V diagnostic criteria

OTP Clinician Duties and Responsibilities

Provide direct services to clients, which will include but not limited to evaluations of clients:
Individual, group and/or family counseling, crisis management, and aftercare planning.

Comply with all chart documentation in a timely manner.

Comply with state and federal SAMHSA/OTP regulations related to care and treatment of methadone patients.

Participate Multidisciplinary Treatment Team and Utilization Review

Assist in development and updating of clinical and psycho- educational programs.

Participate in supervision as scheduled.

Maintain and document collateral contacts with other community organizations as needed, including probation, parole, DCF etc.

Submit reports to collateral contacts as required.

Facilitate appropriate referrals and follow up as appropriate.

Utilize standard precautions at all times.

Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients/clients as defined by the patient’s right

Attend all unit, facility meeting and case conferences as director by Supervisor.

Attend mandatory training.

Other duties as assigned by the Program/Clinical Directors and/or COO.

OTP Clinician Qualifications

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 3 years’ experience or Master’s Degree in related field.

Experience working with substance use disorder populations.

Experience working in Opioid Treatment Programs preferred.
