Staff Pharmacist FT – CVS Health

Job Purpose & SummaryAs a Staff Pharmacist, you will serve as a role model and lead in delivering excellent patient care, supporting the Pharmacy Manager, and ensuring safe, compliant operation of the pharmacy.
Responsibilities- Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, strengthening performance measures and providing feedback.
- Assume Pharmacy Manager day‑to‑day duties as primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Support accurate prescription fulfillment following workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
- Enhance patient experience, demonstrate empathy, resolve insurance and medication issues, and coach the team accordingly.
- Offer and deliver immunizations and support technicians in learning to immunize.
- Manage inventory with a focus on cold‑chain product protection.
- Ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating concerns as needed.
- Participate in schedule creation and adapt to business needs.
- Maintain clinical and technical skills through required training, CMEs, and continuous learning.
- Provide pharmacist‑delivered clinical care services such as testing, prescribing, and holistic care where permissible.
- Apply federal and state laws, professional standards, and CVS policies to uphold patient safety and privacy.
- Active Pharmacist License in the state of the store.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- 1–2 years of related pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service experience.
- Willingness to work across locations as business needs require.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Focus on tasks, pivot quickly, verify prescription accuracy.
- Provide friendly customer service and support team orientation.
- Communicate verbally and written; practice active listening.
- Use math for dosage calculations and supply estimation.
- Resolve issues and make appropriate decisions in patient or colleague interactions.
- Perform physical demands: mobility, lifting (up to 20 lbs), fine motor tasks, visual acuity, etc.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.
Pay Rangeb> $60.00 – $76.00 per hour (or equivalent annual salary). Eligible for bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs.
