SummaryThe Accounting Specialist reports under the supervision of the Accounting Manager and performs clerical duties in support of the Accounting department. The Accountant Specialist completes tasks in compliance with corporate, state, federal, and local regulations, and procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Administer, facilitate and organize an Accounting helpdesk
- Organize daily mail
- Post specific vendor invoices to CODA
- Scan and approve utility invoices in Avid and match with payments in CODA
- Reconcile Caterpillar parts statement monthly
- Post Caterpillar parts invoices/credits from Intray
- Organizing financial records, filing, and data entry
- Assist Accounting Manager, Accountants and Insurance/Bid Analyst with various tasks and projects
- Scan customer tax exemption forms
- Employee tool loans
- Daily cash deposits
Skills and Qualifications
High School Graduate required. Associate’s Degree in Accounting a plus.
2-3 years of accounting experience is preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles.
Experience with CODA.
Organization skills and time management skills are a must.
Must be detail-oriented, time-conscious, focused and able to multi-task.
Attention to detail specific to general ledger account codes, store numbers and divisions is necessary for accurate reporting.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction is a must.
An intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word is necessary.
A general understanding of accounting software specific to accounting will be helpful.

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard;
and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
